Cambridge TKT Teacher Training

What is TKT?

The TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) is a TESOL exam from Cambridge that tests your basic ESL teaching knowledge. It can be taken both by teachers with experience, and people who have no previous teaching experience.

Why take TKT?

To improve your career prospects and salary. TKT  is awarded by Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge. It is internationally recognised, highly respected and a benchmark for quality. For other reasons, click on the following link:

How much training will I need? What do the TKT Bands mean?

Your Cambridge TKT training program focuses on TKT core modules 1, 2 and 3 (we will offer other modules in the near future). In order to give you an idea how long your course might be, we will need to give you a diagnostic test. We will also need to know what Band you are aiming for (we recommend at least Band 3). Is it expensive? What qualifications do the trainers have?

Our training courses are very reasonably priced (you can also pay in installments). The current price of the exam itself is P 2,500 per module (P 7,500 if you choose to do all three core modules). Training sessions are conducted by trainers who have TKT Band 4 (the highest band) or a higher qualification. Maximum class size is 12. For more information on prices, please CONTACT US at train@pacifictreeacad.com

Can I do it part-time?

Training sessions are early evening (6 - 7.30pm) and Saturdays (10 - 11.30am) so if you have a job with regular hours, you can keep working whilst doing your training. You can do as many, or as few sessions, as you want during a week. Each session deals with a different area of the test. Sessions are repeated regularly so if you miss one topic, you will be able to do it two or three weeks later. Most sessions do not need to be done in any particular order.

How do I apply to take the exam? When can I do it?

TKT exams are scheduled by the British Council, Philippines. We will help you with the application procedure. Exam dates depend on demand. Please CONTACT US for exam dates.
